English 197: Individual Studies English 199: Directed Research Instructions for Fall 2006 Am I eligible to enroll in English 197/199? How many units can I earn? How do I enroll? 1. Complete the 197/199 contract form: The contract form must be filled out before you can obtain approval for an upper-division tutorial course. You do not need to specify the nine-digit course ID on the form--this section will be filled out by a counselor. 2. Obtain signatures: Obtain the signature of the English faculty instructor who will be supervising your study and assigning you a grade at the end of the term. Also, obtain the signature of the vice chair of the department, Professor Lowell Gallagher, by placing the form in his mailbox in the main office (Humanities 149) or by seeing him during his office hours. 3. Professor Gallagher will forward your form to the counseling office for processing. If your form is completed and signed by the end of Week 2, a counselor will enroll you in your 197/199 class. If your form is completed after Week 2, Professor Gallagher will leave the form in the counseling office for you to pick up and take to the Registrar's Office to enroll. When is the deadline to enroll? Where can I find the contract forms for Upper-Division Tutorial Courses (195-199)? |
