2006 Dickens Winter Conference

Friday, February 17 through Sunday, February 19, 2006

Royce Hall 306 and 314

--Please arrive at Royce at 5pm Friday--

Each year, in conjunction with the summer Dickens Universe conference, the Dickens Project hosts a winter event one weekend in February. This Winter Conference is designed to give graduate students who participated in the summer Dickens Universe the opportunity to present their work in a constructive and professional environment. As an additional benefit, all participants will receive extensive feedback on their essays from faculty mentors with expertise in British literature or a related field.

While in past years the location of the Dickens winter conference has alternated between UC Davis and UC Riverside, UCLA’s Department of English will host this year’s event for the very first time in order to mark the historic 25th anniversary of the Dickens Project. The Dickens Winter Conference is perennially regarded as one of the most prestigious and well-organized graduate student conferences in the United States.

The organizers of this year's conference would like to thank the Friends of English and the UCLA Graduate Division for generously providing financial support for this event.
