English Reading Room Services and Policies

Access:
The ERR is for the use of UCLA English Department Faculty, Graduate Students, and Majors, and students currently enrolled in English Department classes. All other visitors must check at the service desk or front office.

Circulation Policy:
All ERR material is non-circulating and may not be taken out of the Reading Room.

Cell Phones and Noise:
Cellular phone usage is not permitted anywhere within the ERR and we ask that you turn off your phones, beepers, pagers, or the like when entering. Cell phone conversations are not permitted in the ERR. As a courtesy to others, please remain quiet while using the English Reading Room.

Food & Beverages:
Consumption of food or beverages is not allowed in the ERR. Liquids of any type or in any kind of container are prohibited.

Computing & Printing:
The Humanities Building provides wireless Internet access. Electrical outlets are available within the ERR for use with laptops. UCLA students may borrow a laptop from CLICC at one of the seven CLICC laptop lending locations, including the Powell Laptop Lending Desk. Printing services are not available in the ERR. Please consult the CLICC lab for information on printing services available to UCLA students.

Class Reserves:
Class reserve services are offered for upper division and graduate level English classes. Instructors can contact the ERR staff at x54511 or by email to make arrangements for class reserves. ERR class reserve services are provided in accordance with the UCLA Library Copyright Policy.

Photocopying:
The ERR photocopier requires the use of a BruinCard. Users will be able to add value to their BruinCards via the UCLA BruinCard website, or on machines installed in nine library locations. Library visitors who are not eligible for BruinCards will also be able to purchase a new copy card and add value on these machines. Please see the UCLA Library Copying Services website for more information.
