Welcome

The 60s and early 70s were obviously periods of immense transformation. There was an explosion of countless new things and numerous new ideas. Today, we see that the 60s saw the introduction of changing Civil Rights, Free Speech, Sexual Revolution, the Anti-War Movement, and Black Power, among other broad topics. Meanwhile, the innovative music of the 60s provided a background soundtrack for the times, highlighting what was going on in the world whilst captivating the minds of the youth, and speaking directly to the affected young people about issues with which they were concerned. By examining the music at the time and its affect on students at UCLA, we can learn an incredible amount about the 60s in general, as well as travel back and explore a bit of UCLA in the 60s.
